7 Minute Workout - iOS

Hi everyone,

I have been getting hands-on with the "7 Minute Workout" app for iOS. The app what claims a 7 minute workout is the equivalent to 1 hour.

The app is backed my peer-reviews and scientific research. On the app there is lots of information on how it all works and how it come about. And by lots, we do mean quite a bit. This is not a bad thing as you can, in some cases, view conversations from scientist to researcher and can make an interesting read.

Now, lets focus on the app design. When you start the app you are welcomed by a pleasant green menu.

The menu is broken down into 6 simple options. The way the lines and different size fonts do really make a immersive experience. So far so good, and what you expect from a 69p app.

The workout part of the app, is also easy to understand. With a simple countdown to the next activity and then a picture, animation or text on how to do it.

Now onto the activity calendar, this is a clear, easy to use calender with all your records. (You can access graphs on the Results Tracker) As you can see, I haven't been doing much as it really is a real sweaty work out.

Overall, I think this is an excellent app and is one of the best and easy to use fitness apps I have ever used. Lots of people also agree by looking at the reviews.

Remember Pat-Faces? Well there still here and this one is the first ever app to get 5 our of 5 Pat-Faces.

Space Tap - BB PlayBook (BB OS)

So it is time for a game for BlackBerry PlayBook and it is called space tap.

The aim of the game is too guide the space ships into the stations without crashing into the other ships. It can get very addictive and challenging.

The free version only comes with one level, but levels are infinite and can never end.

The full version with all the levels costs £2 which seems to be quite good as most games in app world are double that price. But it is worth it so we recommend that you get over to app world and download it.

It gets 4 Pat-Faces out of 5.

Youtube - iOS

So just as we were discussing Apple removed Maps and YouTube in the iOS 6 update.

So here is our review of the great new YouTube app, designed by YouTube.

With the old app, it was all clunky and felt old and not that easy to use. You can now do more and it is easier to comment, like videos etc. Also with the 16:9 Ratio on the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5th Gen you can now watch videos with no annoying black bars.

I wish though on your news feed you could just show your uploads from your subscriptions. The app shows Recommendations, comments, likes from them and frankly it just gets very annoying. Also you cant change what quality the video is coming out in, but it was very high even on a slow internet connection.

It gets:
3.5 Pat-faces

Google Maps - iOS

Now there is no denying that Google Maps for iOS was wanted like the man who mugged the old lady last week. And why did they want it? Because Apple decided to remove Google Maps off iOS 6, along with YouTube which we will be reviewing later.

Everyone expected it to be a great new app using TomTom, but Apple brought it on the cheap and they now claim that they are working on it. It got so bad that even Tim Cook had to release a statement.

But No More! Google have saved our life's with an even better app.
We get the maps we can trust and the directions we can trust (unlike Apple's maps with people getting lost in deserts).

It is a lot faster and better looking, and on the retina display on iPhone and iPod touch it looks...almost stunning.

In a summary it is a lot better than Apple Maps (for now).
So for that reason it gets

4.5 pat-faces.

Would be more if there was the option to download maps as you can in the Android version.

Facebook Poke - iOS

There was a lot of moaning about Facebook Poke as it was copying a similar app. But now people have learnt to like it and are maybe even thinking it is better.

Basically you can poke your friends with videos, photos etc. And you can also set a timer to see how long they can see it.

So to be honest i don't really understand it. So for that reason it is only getting:

2.5 Pat-Faces

Welcome
